Comparison: Self vs Others mindset vs destruction

How often do you compare yourself to others? Why? When is comparison helpful? When is comparison damaging? Why do our brains use comparison to figure out how to measure up to other people?

I truly feel in some way we all compare ourself to one another. We compare I feel because of what the other person is capable of doing. We compare the worse of ourselves to the best we see in others. When we compare we have resentment towards others and towards ourself. I feel comparison is a negative and anxious thought that is beyond hard, I feel, to come out of. I feel comparison makes one feel less then, starts silence, less active, damages self esteem, feeling of worthless, feeling of not being enough, jealousy, envy, depression, anxiety, over spending, affects the ability to trust, and takes away from YOU.

Does comparison have value? Does comparison have true meaning? Does comparison fulfill your life? Does comparison add to what you want defining you? Does comparison make you stronger? Does comparison motivate you? Does comparison get you outside your comfort zone? Does comparison add to your uniqueness?

If comparison is making you who you are not. If comparison is destroying you. It is time to stop. START tackling comparison by getting rid of what creates it. I feel social media has huge part of comparing self to others. Turn it off and take a break. Journal if you need to so you can compare the difference. You need to practice gratitude and make it a habit. Put the time and energy into your own life. Create the life, the you, you want to be. Stop comparing your self to the highlight, spotlight, none reality moments and realize it is not the complete story you are comparing too. You are meant for this life for a reason so focus on you, focus on your strengths, focus on what you want defining you as YOU, and focus on your accomplishments small and big. Instead of comparing yourself to others cheer them on and be happy for them. Understand it is their accomplishment, it is their journey, it is them being a better me. So be happy for other people. Never take what is not yours. Try to compare against yourself before you compare yourself to others. Setting boundaries is a must across the board, with people, with social media, with television, with what takes away from you becoming YOU. Stop impulse buying, stop fearing that you will miss out, don’t be annoyed by others success, don’t delete because it didn’t get enough response, and stop always checking who liked your post. Just let it be and one day it will be viewed by the right person.

So focus on you! Focus on your life! Focus on what you want defining you! Focus on what makes you happy! Focus on gratitude! Focus on keeping up with self. Focus on comparing yourself to yesterday. YOU ARE ENOUGH! Be true, Be YOU!

It is crazy how I can self sabotage continuously with food choices even though I know better. How are you with food choices? After eating clean for weeks then having 3 days of unhealthy eating I feel nasty. Little family trip is no excuse but a good excuse! I feel like crap , food comatose, Swollen fingers, swollen hands, swollen feet, headache, thirsty, weight gain, and no motivation. Why do I continue to eat the crappy yummy food specially when I know how my body reacts to it. Right now I am beyond grateful for my health and I have the ability to continuously get my self back on track but it’s continuous bad choice making and knowing better that I’m working on. Is your health slowly declining? What is going in your mouth? What are your feet and legs doing? How is your mindset? What is your fear? What has you so comfort?

I truly want to use excuses but I know I can not. I truly want to blame it on anything but I know I can not. It is truly all about my choices. It is about owning self. It is about what I choose to put in my mouth and what kind of daily movement I will endure through the day. It is about tackling who I know I can be or want to be for my “why”. It is knowing when I am wrong, accepting when I have been told I am wrong, wanting to change because of me wanting to be better, it is attacking who I want to be and tackling who I do not want defining me.

It is important to have a true “WHY” to get you moving. What ever it is you need to tackle, it should be because of your “WHY”! Use your “WHY” to keep you focused on motivated. Hold on to your “WHY” when all you want to do is give up because it is getting hard. Remember your “WHY” when you failed. Get back up because of your “WHY”! What is your why?

I am very aware of the importance the older I am getting to keep muscle strength, active moving, mindset and eating healthy. I also know it is okay to eat crappy foods but it’s balance of making wiser choices more often then not. It is not eating that last bite (some of us are in the generation where we had to finish our plate. Serve your self less food if you need to finish your plate. It is weird to be in generation where you heard elders tell you to eat all your food, your not full and now they tell the grandkids/great grandkids you can be done it is okay not to finish. Is isn’t good to over eat! What the heck is that! LoL. I still cherish it all with much love. ) I know that I want to live and not just exist. I know it takes dedication, hard work, mindset, and understanding of life to live independently and possibly still driving at 90! (Thanks for being amazing inspiration Grandpa Hironaka! I cherish every word that brings knowledge of aging gracefully from you. I will stop eating when I am full. I know as I am getting older and wiser, I have your permission grandpa not to finish my plate!! I love you grandpa!)

So anyways just please treat your body, mind and soul like you are important because you are important. You are worthy! You are smart! You are beautiful! You are enough! You are a WARRIOR! Be true! Be you!

It can be to late to start; So don’t wait around, Don’t wait for the right moment, Don’t use an excuse, Don’t think about it, Don’t under estimate your true being, Start now! Start now while you are capable. Don’t look back, don’t think, just start. Start now before you don’t have the choice to start. Start now before it is to late. START.. give yourself a chance, give yourself a break, give yourself the ability to be who you are truly meant to be, give yourself gratitude, give your self rewards over the little accomplishments, Give yourself praise. Accept the hard times because thats you growing into your true self.
